All of my engagment sessions are fun and I enjoy tying the hitsory of the couple's relationship into their photos. Sometimes its photographing them while they tell the story of how they met. Sometimes we go back to where he proposed. We usually talk about it through messages or on the phone. Planning Alyssa and Luke's engagment session went a little differently.
As luck may have it, Alyssa was invited on my cousin's bachelorett party and she ended up sitting right next to me. Such a lucky girl cuz I am a good time! Anyhoo-- I started to talk to her about their engagement session and asked her how they met. Turns out, Luke and Alyssa have grown up together. They went to the same small grade school, live in the same small town and as luck may have it, ended up dating as adults. She described their meeting as pretty run of the mill. Nothing exciting. You know what? Every relationship is exciting! Even if it does happen to be focused on a small farming community. I looked at her and with my goofy maybe-had-too-many-shots-grin, 'you know what?! We are going to do the entire session in St. Rose, and we are starting at the gradeschool.' Location done! woo hoo!
This is what happens when you mix a small town girl, a small town boy, a small town photographer and some small town charm. Who said our lives out here in the middle of no where aren't beautiful?
How cute are these two?! So turns out there are actually some trees in St. Rose! YAY!As we were walking down the dirt road to the creek, Luke mentioned the bridge that crosses over Shoal Creek. Alyssa added that it wasn't much or that pretty. I told them to hang back and I would walk ahead to see if it was worth hauling the gear and ourselves down there.
THEN THIS! Needless to say, the gear came down. Out to Alyssa's family farm. This made me giggle...Well there it is. Alyssa and Luke's engagement session. Boring? not even for a minute!
Never doubt the beauty of home. <3
